Tried endless things for the title of this blog - all been taken. 'Tight and bright' was a favourite saying of a former journalism teachng colleague in Cardiff - John Foscolo.
Thanks, John. Those who know you will appreciate a certain irony here.
So after a year of bullying students into starting a blog, I have one myself.
I wonder what will happen.

Why 'tight and bright'?
A favourite saying of a former teaching colleague at the Centre for Journalism Studies. And not a bad one either!
The irony is that this colleague didn't believe in the web, or computers, or electricity for that matter.
He was a pretty good sub though.
